Very handy program to have in your dock when quoting serial numbers, postal codes, etc. over the phone. Ive found myself having to repeat and try really hard to enunciate when the person Ive sent a series of numbers and letters to reads it back and its not correct. Very good value for money.

Work fine, 2.99 for the upgrade?

The application is nice but 2.99 for the upgrade is just too much greavy I would pay 99

Great little app, nothing to crazy, but super helpful if you have to work thru automated systems. Get info over the phone on case files and other things.

This app works. The idea is good too. I use it as a trainning aid and to refresh the mind. Having Drag and drop is nice too. I would like to be able to print out the text and Alphabet Chart tho. Its simple and work good. Thank You to the publishers.

This App does exactly what is says it does without fuss or clutter. Its very useful to have on hand if youre trying to spell out an address, or something, over a bad telephone connection.

I often have to call Tech Support for certain programs I have and always have to give a long serial #. Now I dont sound like an IDIOT making up my own words for the letter portions.

This is a nice application, but I really hate the icon! I decided to uninstall it to help my eye. Please change the icon into a Mac style, if you have a time to improve your product. Thanks.

antasena · 13 years ago

Simple, but effective.

Works well, but being able to speak the letters would be helpful.

Great for people who only occasionally use the NATO phonetic alphabet. Useful for communicating serial numbers, model numbers, and other information required by technical support for products and services, just to cite one use. The speech-synthesized voice has little value. It speaks far too slowly. The pronunciation is not correct. For example, in th NATO alphabet, “Lima” is pronounced “LEE-MAH.” This application pronounces it “LIE-MAH.” “Oscar” should be pronounced “OSS-CAH.” This program pronounces it “AW-SKER.” Instead of pronouncing “Victor” as “VIK-TAH,” per the NATO pronunciation, it pronounces it “VIK-TOR.” There are other examples, but suffice it to say that it’s just wrong and misleading.

as a ham radio operator, this app is amazingly simple and it’s a fun way to remember all the letterings phonetically. great application and it’s even fun to stump your friends who may or may not be as knowledgeable about the code as you are. peace and blessings in jesus name.

Simple, does what it's supposed to do

Never had a problem with it, everyone should have this on their computer even if you're not a ham. Ever have that problem trying to get someone to understand you or spell something over the phone? Get this and spell it the right way. :)

Perfect for what it does

Great for speaking with airlines and making sure the PRNs are accurately communicated!

Does Exactly What it Says

Love it! :) SO helpful when Customer Support or the Order Desk doesn't understand what you're saying. Type is large enough to read even with one hand on the computer keyboard and the other on a pen and the phone between ear & shoulder. One Request? A saved short list of 5 frequently used words. I'd use it for my last name, my street name, my email address ...

Good attempt at a useful app

Love the concept, and what is here works well. What I would like to see to get 5 stars would be the ability to supply my own word list. I am associated with an organization that uses a different wordset, and if I could add MY wordset to this app, it would be awesome. I also understand that is a lot to ask for a free app, but, still, would make this pretty close to perfect.

To The Point... Tango Tango Papa

Excellent, simple, non-intrusive. Good learning tool. Speech portion is not important, at least for my use. Thankyou to the developers.

Basic and Simple

Just needs a Quit button to remove it from the menubar without having to click first on the gear icon to reveal a pop-down menu.

I'm a starting Ham Radio opperator, so being new to using the Phonectic Alphabet, this is a must have.

Would Pay for More Features!

It took a suprising amount of time to find a sutable offline NATO converter for the Mac. Aa functions as such, but also offers support for common substitutions (David, Italy, London, and Washington). I greatly apprecite this application's existance, would pay for its continued development, and would absolutely love a more indepth tool for title case alterations, randomization, etc. Thank you!

Good app and well integrated

It is very fast, integrated into the top bar at all times. Helps a lot being on the phone. Programmers have trully done a good job. Could use a history - or frequently used - since the address and names are typically typed over and over.
